Police: 2 of 4 sought in NJ firehouse burglary cooperating

RAHWAY, N.J. (AP) — Authorities say two of four men being sought in an early morning burglary at a New Jersey fire house while crews were out on a call are cooperating with investigators.

Rahway police said four men who appeared to be in their early 20s entered the Rahway Fire Headquarters early Friday while firefighters were on an emergency call.

Police say they lingered in the bay area, even pointing to surveillance cameras, then rummaged through the building and left, taking a firefighter’s jacket that contained his keys, wallet, cash and credit cards.

Police say two of the four suspects turned themselves in and are “cooperating fully” with the investigation. They say earlier reports that one of the credit cards belonging to the firefighter was used to buy gasoline were incorrect.
