Parkway closed after huge pileup in Yonkers

NEW YORK (FOX5NY) - The Bronx River Parkway was expected to remain closed between Scarsdale Rd. and Desmond Ave. in Yonkers until Tuesday after several accidents that were blamed on icy conditions.

There were four crashes involving 14 cars between 8:50 p.m. and 9:10 p.m. on Sunday night.

It was unclear how many people were hurt but police said all of the injuries were minor.

The road will be closed until two sections of guardrail are replaced.
