A child was rescued from a pond in the Springfield Gardens section of Queens, the FDNY said.

QUEENS - A child was rescued from a pond in the Springfield Gardens section of Queens, the FDNY said.

What we know:

Officials received a call just before 3 p.m. for reports of a child falling into the pond at Springfield Park, near Springfield Boulevard and 146th Ave.

The FDNY removed the child from the water and transported them to a hospital. There was no word on his condition.
