Missile missing from Army plane

An Apache helicopter from Fort Drum in upstate New York is missing a missile.  Army officials say the non-explosive dummy missile fell off a plane during a flight from Fort Drum to the New York Air Show in Orange County on Friday.

They described the missing missile as 64 inches long, 7 inches wide and weighing 100 pounds with the words U-S Army painted on the side.

The dummy missile is used to help simulate the weight of an operational missile during flight and would pose no threat to the general public.

The Army is asking anyone who may have found it to call the 10th Mountain Division operations center at 315-772-6324.  They say that if you find it, you can also call your local police.
