Massive fire burns HBO set in upstate New York

A massive fire burned the site of an HBO movie set overnight in upstate New York.

Flames tore through a used car dealership, and into the night sky, on Route 209 around 1 a.m. Thursday in Ellenville in Ulster County.

The dealership is known as 613 Automotive and it was a total loss.   That is where actor Mark Ruffalo and actress Melissa Leo just started shooting an HBO miniseries called, "I Know This Much Is True."

It was unclear if any shooting was going on at the time when the flames broke out but it was believed that several classic Camaros that were brought to the set for the production were a complete loss.

Firefighters from several locations across the region were brought in to fight the fire.  It took several hours to get the fire under control.  An investigation into a cause was ongoing.

No injuries were reported.
