Luxury the Italian way

NEW YORK (FOX 5 NEWS) - A celebration of all things Italian -- wines, fashion, jewelry -- took place at Saks Fifth Avenue Wednesday night. It was all in celebration of the Robb Report's March La Dolce Vita issue, dedicated to the artisans and craftsmen that make Italian life so sweet.

Brett Anderson, Robb Report's editor-in-chief, says the Italians have a different way of approaching life than in most other countries, where they're willing to slow down and put the time into producing something that's absolutely unique and handmade.

From the Ducati motorcycles inside Saks to even more Ducatis and a few Lamborghinis outside (yes, you've seen that car before; I drove it last spring on the Lap of Luxury Summer Special).

Plus panini straight from Florence and truffle risotto from Chef Massino Bebber, the new top chef at Le Cirque.

The celebration continues at Saks Fifth Avenue throughout the weekend with a special Saks Luxe Made to Measure event, where shoppers can get exclusive access to luxury brands.

Shawn Howell, VP of men's luxury collections at Saks Fifth Avenue, says the store will have representatives from all of its brands doing customizations for its clients. There will even be a tasting from Tom Ford and Ferragamo.

Representatives from some of Saks' biggest brands will be represented by the best artisans in Italy, at Saks through Saturday.

Friday we visit Isaia, luxury Neapolitan tailors who make their own fabrics and are dressing some of the hottest names in Hollywood.
