NEW YORK (FOX 5 NEWS) - After Black Friday and Cyber Monday comes Giving Tuesday. The day is a global movement to encourage you to give back, either in donations or volunteerism. The hashtag #GivingTuesday tracks how people are giving.
"On Tuesday, December 1, 2015, charities, families, businesses, community centers, and students around the world will come together for one common purpose: to celebrate generosity and to give," according to the GivingTuesday.org website. "It's a simple idea. Just find a way for your family, your community, your company or your organization to come together to give something more. Then tell everyone you can about how you are giving. Join us and be a part of a global celebration of a new tradition of generosity."
Do you need help figuring out how to participate? The website offers tools to individuals (to help you find causes and ways to contribute) and to charities (to help you harness the power of social media to fundraise or promote you message) and to teachers (to help you teach your students about charities and causes).
