A woman from South America who was visiting Connecticut for the holidays turned to first responders for help with a ring stuck on her finger.

The Danbury Fire Department posted photos on Facebook showing firefighters helping her out at Engine 23's station house on New Year's Eve because the ring was too tight and he couldn't get it off.

Firefighter Tommy Chirico with Rescue 1 came to the firehouse with a ring cutter to free the Colombian woman from her restrictive jewelry.

"We are equipped with all sorts of tools to assist people in difficult predicaments," the fire department posted. "Our visitor was very pleased with our service and went about her night, wearing one less ring!"

Cutting people out of wrecked cars or narrow jewelry is all in a day's work for a firefighter.
