Deshi golden raisins recalled due to undeclared sulfites

Queens-based Deshi Distributors LLC recalling certain packages of Deshi golden raisins because they contain undeclared sulfites, which can cause potentially life-threatening reactions in people who are allergic.

The recalled products, which came in three sizes of clear plastic bags, were sold in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Michigan, according to an announcement posted on the FDA's website.

These are the packages being recalled:

  • Size: 3.5 oz. | UPC: 691035359586
  • Size: 7 oz. | UPC: 691035360179
  • Size: 14 oz. | UPC: 691035360483

Routine lab testing by the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets detected sulfites in packages of Deshi Golden Raisin; the label does not declare these sulfites.
