Daredevils prove you can do stunts on a Citi Bike

We see Citi Bikes everywhere, but what you probably haven't seen is them used to do stunts. Let the Citi Bike Boyz show you how. That is what they call themselves on their Instagram page, where they post images of themselves performing jumps in skate parks on the more sturdy-than-stunt-worthy Citi Bike.

"The bike was made for it, for sure," says "Jay," as he calls himself. "It wheelies like it's just so balanced."

Jay began riding to and from work to relieve the stress of being cooped up in an office all day.

"I'm in the cubicle 14 hours a day sometimes," Jay says, "so I'll get off work and just be gassed up and want to get out there and start peddling."

Jay says his stunting skills are in his DNA and came naturally. He claims that the legendary Evel Knievel is a distant relative.

"You wouldn't believe it but yeah," Jay says. "Really."

His riding partner, who goes by the name "G," demonstrated his signature curb jump for us. G says this is simply a low-cost way to have fun. He said the Citi Bike $3-per-ride promo this month makes it as cheap as the subway.

"But you can have way more fun," G says. "You can't do a wheelie on a subway car, you know!"

The Citi Bike Boyz say doing stunts isn't for everyone.

And no matter what you do, when you're riding a bike make sure to obey the traffic laws.
