Couple arrested after fast food and fork fight
A Florida couple faces felony battery charges after an argument over drinking lead one to hit the other with a Taco Bell burrito and the other to retaliate with a fork.
It happened in the town of Crestview on Tuesday.
Okaloosa County Sheriff's deputies were called to the home in the early morning hours.
Deputies say that when they got there Suzanne Hurlvert, 51, had a fork protruding from her hand.
They say she was calm and in good spirits when they got there but told deputies she and Carl Owen Smith, 66, got into an argument about wanted to go out drinking at a bar every night.
During the argument, she hit him in the back of the head with her half-eaten Taco Bell Burrito Supreme. She claimed that Smith then stabbed her hand with a fork he was using to eat a Taco Bell pizza and left their home.
Portions of the burrito were located on the floor, scattered on the sofa, and on a lamp shade.
Smith was located at a nearby bar. Deputies claim that, after being shown a photo of the fork in Hurlvert's hand be began to laugh and reported a lengthy historic of domestic violence between them.
Smith is charged with 2nd degree felony aggravated battery that caused bodily harm or disability. Hurlvert faces a third degree felony battery charge.
