Burglar steals dead man's clothes from funeral home

Kentucky police are hunting for a man who burglarized a funeral home and made off with a dead man’s clothes.

Police in Leitchfield released a surveillance image of the burglary Wednesday night at the Watson and Hunt Funeral Home.

They say that about 8:30 p.m. a man went in through the front doo and stayed inside for several hours, even taking  anap in a chair in the office.

He eventually stole several electronic items including a Playstation 3 from the office.

He also the clothing and jewelry belonging to a deceased man's body who was going to be preped for his funeral services.

“Yes, he stole a dead man’s clothes,” funeral director Jason Watson said on Facebook. "If anyone recognizes this man please contact the police."

The burglar also made off with the keys to the funeral home’s hearse.

In a Facebook post, the funeral home said they hope for "the capture of this wretched individual."
