Brush fire near NJ Turnpike causing traffic delays

ELIZABETH, N.J. - A large brush fire near the New Jersey Turnpike is causing significant delays for commuters.

SkyFOX flew over the scene in Elizabeth on Tuesday evening.

A car fire near Newark Liberty Airport just north of exit 13A may have sent embers into the nearby brush, causing a fire.

Firefighters are continuing to attempt to fight the fire, but commuters should expect major delays in both directions along the Turnpike.
