Microsoft co-founder, philanthropist and business magnate Bill Gates has once again been named the richest person in the world.

According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Gates has a total net worth of $110B, just ahead of Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos at $109B.

Gates returned to the top spot for the first time in over two years thanks to a 48 percent increase in Microsoft shares this ear.
