65-year-old Queens woman stabbed by home intruders while taking out trash: NYPD

Police say a 65-year-old woman was stabbed multiple times by two home intruders inside her apartment in Flushing, Queens. 

According to authorities, the suspects entered while she was taking out the trash and attacked her before fleeing without stealing anything. The victim is in stable condition, and authorities are reviewing surveillance footage as the suspects remain at large.

What we know:

The attack happened just after 5:30 p.m. inside an apartment building on Roosevelt Avenue near Parsons Boulevard.

According to police, the two unidentified male suspects entered the building while the victim was taking out her trash. When she returned to her apartment, the intruders were already inside. They attempted to rob her but left without taking anything. 

However, before fleeing, the suspects attacked the woman, stabbing her multiple times.

The victim was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition.

What we don't know:

Authorities have not identified the suspects or determined how they gained access to the building. Police have not indicated whether this was a random attack or if the victim was targeted. 

So far, no arrests have been made.
