Owner among 2 dead in shooting at Long Island deli

COPIAGUE, N.Y. - A suspect is in custody after two men were killed and two others were wounded in a shooting at a Long Island deli, police said.

Suffolk County police responded to a report of shots fired at the La Vaquita Corp. deli in Copiague just after 6 p.m. Saturday. When they arrived they found four men had been shot.

Manuel Cruz-Hernandez, 47, of Copiague, died at the scene.  Bolivar Rodriguez, 61, who owned the deli, died later at a hospital.

The other two men who were shot, Juan Ramone Avilla Roque, 30, and Daniel E. Acosta, 40, were taken to hospitals with serious injuries, police said.

On Sunday, police said Dionicio Calderon-Oseguera, 62, of Copiague was arrested and was to be arraigned Monday on murder and attempted murder charges. It could not be determined if he has a lawyer to comment for him.
