New York Water Taxi ferry hits dock on West Side

NEW YORK (FOX 5 NEWS) - A New York Water Taxi ferry boat made a "hard landing" at a dock on the West Side of Manhattan Friday afternoon.

The boat hit the dock at Pier 79 at West 39th Street at about 4:10 p.m., the FDNY said. The boat dock is directly above the Lincoln Tunnel.

At least 11 people suffered minor injuries, a fire official said.

FDNY, NYPD, and Coast Guard vessels responded to the area.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident.
