Man talked down from Williamsburg Bridge

Members of the NYPD Emergency Service Unit talked down an emotionally disturbed man from the Williamsburg Bridge.

The rescue high above the East River took about one hour.

Police responded to the scene following a 911 call about the man just after 9 a.m. on Sunday.

The man was threatening to jump but eventually agreed to come down.

He was lowered via harness to the pedestrian walkway and transported to Bellevue Hospital for evaluation.
