Former model and father convicted of beating her husband to death

A former model has been convicted of murdering her husband, along with her former FBI agent father.
Molly Martens, 33, and her father Tom Martens, 67, claimed the deadly beating of Molly’s husband in 2015 was self-defense, but both were charged with murder and found guilty Wednesday.

Molly Martens was hired in 2008 as a nanny by Jason Corbett, a widower, who needed help raising his two children in Ireland.

The two ultimately got married in 2011 and eventually moved back to the United States.

But years later, Corbett was dead.

Tom Martens called 911 on Aug. 2, 2015, to report an incident at the couple’s home in Lexington, N.C.

In the call, he claimed he had walked in on a violent argument between his daughter and Corbett and hit him in the head with a baseball bat.

Tom also mentioned in the call that Jason threatened to kill Molly.

Corbett was found dead in the bedroom with head injuries from the baseball bat and a brick found nearby.

Molly was heard in the 911 call trying to administer CPR, but Jason could not be saved.

After the verdict was handed down, Molly and Tom Martens were sentenced to 20-25 years in prison. They said they will appeal the verdict.
