A pane of glass fell from a Times Square hotel and crashed into an occupied taxi on the street below.

The scary incident unfolded Monday afternoon at the Hilton Hotel on 41st Street.  A pane of glass fell from the 15th floor of the building at about 4:40 p.m.

It crashed into the back window of a taxi that was driving down the street.  The driver says he was thankful it didn't hit the windshield.

At least one other car had significant damage and the street was covered in broken glass, causing the entire block to be closed for clean-up.

No one was hurt in the incident.

The New York City Department of Buildings is investigating the accident and the building's owners hired a contractor to make repairs, according to city officials.
