Erica Garner, the daughter of Eric Garner who died in 2014 after being placed in an chokehold by police on Staten Island, took to Twitter to slam the Clinton campaign after emails were released by WikiLeaks about an op-ed piece on gun violence.

Staffers exchanged emails about leaving Eric Garner out of the piece that was printed in the NY Daily News.

"I know we have Erica Garner issues but we don’t want to mention Erica at all? I can see her coming after us for leaving him out of the piece,” wrote campaign spokesman Nick Merrill.

"Eric Garner not included because not killed by gun violence,” responded staffer Maya Harris.

"That’s a pretty good point,” Merrill answered.

It's not clear what issues Merrill claimed the Clinton camp had with Erica Garner. She took to Twitter on Thursday to respond.

“I’m troubled by the revelation that you and this campaign actually discussed ‘using’ Eric Garner … Why would you want to ‘use’ my dad?” wrote Garner.

"These people will co opt anything to push their agenda,” Garner also wrote . “Police violence is not the same as gun violence.”

Garner has criticized Clinton and Donald Trump. She supported Bernie Sanders during his primary run for the Democratic nomination.

Earlier this week, U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch  announced that she was appointing Justice Department investigators to take over the civil rights probe into Garner's death.

The Garner family settled with New York City and the Police Department for $5.9 million.
