NYPD: Shake Shack pervert arrested

A man wanted for touching two girls at a Shake Shack on the Upper West Side of Manhattan was arrested, according to police.

Herbert Stokes, 36, allegedly walked up to a 12-year-old girl on a staircase inside the eatery and grabbed her wrist. The child pulled away and the suspect continued down the stairs.

Several minutes later, the man approached a 13-year-old girl outside the store, asked her her named and kissed her right check, said police.

The victim ran away on Columbus Ave.

Both incidents occurred Jan. 11 at around 11:30 a.m.

Stokes was arrested Thursday and charged with endangering the welfare of a child and sex abuse. He lives at a homeless shelter.

Surveillance video of the suspect was released earlier this week.

Police had described him as as black, 5'6" tall, 155 lbs., with black hair, black waist-length leather jacket, dark blue pants and black sneakers.
