Fox News Channel co-president Bill Shine is stepping down. The network announced Shine's resignation Monday. It comes after allegations of sexual harassment against former Fox News host Bill O'Reilly and former Fox News CEO Roger Ailes.

A number of lawsuits have also been filed recently alleging racial and gender discrimination at the network.

Rupert Murdoch, who is the executive chair of 21st Century Fox and chief executive of Fox News, released a statement saying: "Bill has played a huge role in building Fox News to its present position as the nation's biggest and most important cable channel in the history of our industry. His contribution to our channel and our country will resonate for many years."

21st Century Fox is the parent company of Fox 5 News/Fox5NY.com.
