NEW YORK (FOX 5 NY) - Police in New York have arrested a man in connection with a brutal attack on a Bronx sidewalk.
The NYPD says that Nilson Castillo, 21, was arrested.
Video showed the attacker beating a man to the ground and then repeatedly kicking him before stealing his headphones.
It happened early Sunday morning in front of a store on West 183rd in the Fordham Heights section of the borough.
Police say Castillo walked up to the 38-year-old victim about 3:10 a.m.
He started talking with the victim before punching the man. When the victim collapsed on the sidewalk he continued to punch him before then starting to kick and stomp on him.
The mugger, dressed in a red jacket, a gray Jordan sweat suit and a grey hat, spoke to the man for a few seconds before launching his attack, video released by the NYPD shows.
The victim was rushed to the hospital in critical condition for head and neck injuries.
It was unclear if Castillo had a lawyer who could speak on his behalf.
