NEW YORK (FOX5NY) - A man is hospitalized in very bad shape after he was attacked in the Union Square subway station. It happened in the early morning hours on Saturday.
The NYPD says a Hispanic man and an Asian man approached a 41-year-old man who was standing on the southbound "Q" train platform. They punched him in the head, causing him to fall on the platform. His head was hit by a train as it entered the station in Midtown Manhattan.
The man was left with multiple fractures to his face and skull and bleeding on the brain. He also suffered lacerations to his head.
It was unclear if the suspects were robbing the man or what started the attack. Police are still looking for the two suspects. Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS. Police say all calls are confidential.
