Mystery-themed food tours on Long Island

Food Done It? is a Who Done It? with food—a delectable scavenger hunt where participants' sole mission is to solve a made-up crime while eating and drinking along the way.

"The full name is Food Done It? Edible Mystery Tours," co-founder Kevin Hindley said.

"I was inspired by the town's Main Streets on Long Island there's so many amazing restaurants," co-founder Elizabeth Hindley said. "I thought, 'Why don't we combine some elements like escape room, trivia night and restaurants all in one night so we can graze our way through town.'"

Kevin and Elizabeth, husband and wife, watched their fair share of Sherlock and The Chef's Table. They came up with the first-of-its-kind idea just over a year ago. It's a four-hour smartphone-guided tour involving a series of clues and trivia to solve scenarios based on a 1918 mystery.

"It started in Patchogue and then went to Huntington—two places I was growing up," she said.

From the Town of Huntington to the Village of Babylon where Food Done It is bringing its newest tour later this month, they picked out six new spots for players to enjoy.

"Some restaurants serve Italian, some of our restaurants are American food, some Argentinian," Kevin said.

And of course, all adventures end with dessert!
