Man faces charges after baby found in subway

A 26-year-old New York man is facing charges, including child abandonment, after a six-month-old girl was found alone on an Upper East Side subway platform.

The NYPD says Joshua Perez was with the child and her mother on the Upper East Side on Sunday morning.  They got into an arguement and went their separate ways.

The baby was later found unharmed in her stroller on a platform at the 86th and Lexington Ave. subway station.

Police say around the same time, the man called police himself to report the child missing. He had fallen asleep on a train and woke up at a Brooklyn stop.  He was placed under arrest.
