2 teens arrested for throwing brick from LI overpass

Two teenagers are in custody after an investigation involving a brick being thrown from an overpass on the Meadowbrook Parkway last Saturday.  The brick smashed through a car windshield injuring the driver and a passenger.

According to police, Andrew Denton, 17, and Jacob Palant, 19, were arrested and charged with criminal mischief and reckless endangerment.

Investigators believe they were standing on a pedestrian overpass and tossed a brick through the windshield of a BMW that was driving below.

Police say the 21-year-old driver was hit in the shoulder. His passenger, a 22-year-old woman, suffered an eye injury and bruising to her mouth. She was taken to a hospital for treatment and released.
