David Bowie photos take over subway station

There aren't many things New Yorkers wait in line for but a MetroCard with David Bowie on it is one of them. Spotify just unveiled a unique Bowie art installation at the Broadway-Lafayette subway station in Manhattan.

Along with the fantastic images, you can score one of five special Bowie MetroCards. But don't forget: patience is a virtue. And in order to snag one, you're going to need it.

The Spotify subway takeover is in connection with the Brooklyn Museum's current exhibition David Bowie Is. All of the posters in the station have been swapped out for images of the legendary rocker.

Spotify worked with Bowie's estate, so many of these photos are from his personal collection.

Like Ziggy Stardust, Aladdin Sane, and Thin White Duke and there's a musical component to this subway takeover.

Every now and then you come across something in this city that reminds you why New York is so cool. You can check out this subway takeover through Sunday, May 13.
