Black Friday to Cyber Monday deals on electronics, TVs, clothes

- Electronics, televisions, and apparel—the three categories where you can save big this holiday weekend.

Trae Bodge, a smart shopping expert with Slickdeals, says that's where your attention should be from Black Friday through Cyber Monday.

You can do only so much shopping, Trae says, so focus on the areas with the deepest discounts. And those discounts are already rolling out.

Apple is teasing a four-day event from Black Friday through Cyber Monday, but just remember the best Apple deals at this time of year are usually from stores like Best Buy, not Apple.

A lot of retailers are also matching their in-store deals online.

Walmart's Light Up Black Friday in-store sale starts at 6 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day. The online deals start on Wednesday, November 21, at 10 p.m.

Kohl's has door-buster deals online and in-store starting Thanksgiving Day, plus $15 Kohl's Cash for every $50 you spend.

So the question is, do you need to go to the store at all? Trae says that in some cases yes because some deals are exclusively in the store.

Macy's is offering free in-store only door-busters.

Lowe's opens at 6 a.m. on Black Friday with in-store-only deals like poinsettias for 50 cents.

Target has 55-inch smart TVs for $200—but only in stores.

Plus, shopping Black Friday might actually be fun. Trae expects customer service to be really good over the holiday weekend. Expect ample staffing and good in-store experiences compared to past years.

Just remember, the best deals could come Cyber Monday, especially at stores that have both an online and a brick-and-mortar presence. If they don't have a great Black Friday, they might throw in something extra on Cyber Monday to boost sales.

Trae will be on Good Day New York on Black Friday with some more holiday wisdom.

Also, Adobe Analytics has projections for online shopping this holiday weekend. Adobe says you'll find the best deals on sporting goods on Thanksgiving Day, electronics on Black Friday, apparel on Sunday, and toys on Cyber Monday.
