Alison Stroming was born in Brazil and was adopted by an American family when she was 4. A few years later she fell in love with dance in New York.

Her studies eventually led her into the same hallways principal ballerina Misty Copeland still roams today. And they share a bond that is inspiring a new generation.

Alison is now a professional ballerina with the Dance Theatre of Harlem. The company takes the stage at New York City Center April 6 through 9.
