Report: Violent home invasion takes place at DeSean Jackson's California home

The Washington Redskins are preparing to take on the Tampa Buccaneers this Sunday, but their star wide receiver is making headlines again for an incident off the field.

The home of DeSean Jackson was the scene of an armed home invasion this week.

According to TMZ Sports, four or five people entered Jackson's California home with guns and law enforcement sources believe the incident was gang-related.

Jackson is currently with the football team in Virginia and was not in his home at the time of the invasion, but there were an estimated six people inside the home that fought off the intruders.

One person reportedly in the home was struck with a pistol and suffered minor injuries.

"He had no knowledge of the incident until a phone call last evening," Jackson's publicist, Denise White, told TMZ Sports. "It's a legal matter. We're waiting for police to let us know more about the incident."

Investigators believe the intruders have been in the home before and they knew where Jackson's security cameras were located.

The intruders fled the scene before police arrived.

“He’s concerned and he’s letting the law enforcement there take care of it,” said Redskins head coach Jay Gruden. “But obviously, some things happened at his house and he’s concerned as every homeowner would be. He’ll get to the bottom of it as well as the police and we’ll go from there.”

This is not the first time a home owned by Jackson has been invaded. In January 2014, someone broke into Jackson's Philadelphia home stealing over $130,000 in cash and jewelry.

In March of that same year, the Eagles released Jackson reportedly due to worries over his ties to gang members.

Jackson has called previous allegations of gang ties "crazy."

Jackson has only played 13 total snaps all year and is again sitting out this Sunday's game against the Buccaneers with a hamstring injury.
