NEW JERSEY (FOX 5 NEWS) - Some of the world's best gymnasts will take center stage at Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, as part of a three-event weekend including Saturday's American Cup and Elite Team Cup. 

For gymnast Carly Patterson, winning the American Cup back in 2004 was a big step toward her winning the all-around gold medal at the 2004 Olympics.  And many of the athletes here this weekend are sure to have their sights set on the 2016 Olympics in Rio. 

The gymnastics three-day event runs through Saturday night and tickets are still available.
