INSIDE EDITION - A Florida mother of three was murdered by a home intruder this week just after writing a Facebook post in which she divulged her income.
Makeva Jenkins was celebrating her own success in the post Wednesday after escaping homelessness and going on to become a successful entrepreneur who sought to share her secret with others.
"We overcame being homeless in 2013/2014 to reaching my six figure mark in 2015 to now making multi six figures," Jenkins wrote. "No matter what the road looked like, I followed my heart and stuck with it growing my business."
But mere hours later, Jenkins would be dead.
Her husband, Euri Jenkins, told WPEC he was with MaKeva just after 1:30 a.m. inside their home in Lake Worth when a masked gunman forced them, a friend and their children upstairs at gunpoint.
He says they persuaded the gunman to let the children leave the house before they were forced to lie facedown on the floor. The husband and father says he then saw the gunman shoot his wife in the head.
"I held her in my arms, she was alive" he told the West Palm Beach station. "I will never forget."
Jenkins was rushed to the hospital, where she died.
