Woman gets into wrong car, nearly raped: Cops

Police in New York have arrested a man on several charges after a woman in Brooklyn got into what she thought was a livery car and was almost raped.

Police arrested David Ramones, 26, of Queens on Wednesday night.  He is charged with attempted rape, menacing, assault, and criminal possession of a weapon.

The incident took place at abut 5 a.m. on August 6.  The woman was on Fulton St. in the Cypress Hills section when he drove about a block, pulled over in the rear of a fast-food restaurant, got into the back seat with a gun and began hitting her in the face and body.  He then attempted to rape the woman but she was successful in fighting him off. 

The man returned to the front seat and drove her to another location and forced her to get out.

The woman was able to get herself to Jamaica hospital where she was treated for her injuries to her face and body.
