Whole Foods Market has apologized and said it will stop peeling and packaging oranges in plastic cartons after a customer's sarcastic tweet.  But some other people are defending the practice.

Nathalie Gordon tweeted the image on Thursday with the caption:  "If only nature would find a way to cover these oranges so we didn't need to waste so much plastic on them."

Whole Foods tweeted back saying:  "Definitely our mistake.  These have been pulled.  We hear you, and we will leave them in their natural packaging:  the peel."

But some customers are pleading with the chain to keep the peeled oranges on the shelves.  Most say they have arthritis and don't have the strength to peel the orange themselves.
