Where are statues of women in Central Park?

A quick tour through Central Park reveals that statue after statue commemorating iconic male historical figures but surveying the monuments leaves us with one question. Where are the women?

That is exactly what Manhattan's Girl Scout Troop 3484 is asking. The young women are raising awareness for the Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Susan B Anthony Statue Fund, which is working to collect around $1 million to install a statue of the two suffragettes on the corner of 77 Street and Central Park West.

The troop is putting its money where its mouth is, too. They will donate Girl Scout cookie money to the fund.

Now, the fund is hoping to have the statue in place by 2020, which is the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment, which granted women the right to vote.
