Vintage jewelry, watches expected to fetch tens of thousands at auctions in New York

Some incredible pieces of jewelry are up for auction at Phillips on Park Avenue this week. From a beautiful Graff D color internally flawless diamond to a necklace with a hidden erotica bead.

There's also a great piece of vintage Hermès, probably from 1935 to 1945. It has the caliber 101, the smallest watch movement ever made.

Phillips is also selling five pieces for Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, the former Liberian President. The proceeds from the property will be donated to a center for young women in Liberia.

The jewels are on auction at Phillips on Thursday, Dec. 6, at 2 p.m.

Watches are up for auction on Wednesday, Dec. 5, at 6 p.m.

Paul Boutros, Phillips' head of watches Americas, showed us a Patek Philippe reference 5016 in rose gold that was one of Patek Philippe's most valuable watches in the early 2000s.

He also brought out one of the most-sought-after modern watches in the world: a Rolex Rainbow Daytona Cosmograph.

Both are expected to go in the six figures.

Phillips is also auctioning an amazing American watch, a Bulova Chronograph given to Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower.

While the Patek Philippe and the Rolex are expected to fetch hundreds of thousands of dollars, plenty of more reasonably priced pieces are also up for auction.

A beautiful diamond palm cuff, starting at $1,100, is part of Phillips' online auction, which runs through Dec. 10.

Anyone can come in and try the pieces on.

Susan Abeles, Phillips' head of jewelry Americas, said Phillips is open to the public and anyone is welcome to come in and say hello, try on the jewelry and watches, or be part of the auctions.
