VIDEO: Residents forced to flee fire

A fire that was believed to have started at a North Hollywood homeless camp spread to an apartment complex forcing residents to flee without clothes on their backs.

Three people were injured and four apartments were destroyed in the fire early Wednesday. It took nearly 100 firefighters to get the flames under control.

A 57-year-old man was taken to a hospital with burns and a 30-year-old woman was transported with smoke inhalation. One person suffered minor burns but was not hospitalized, authorities said.

Brave residents went door-to-door banging and yelling to try to get people to wake up at about 1:30 in the morning as the flames devoured neighboring units.
