Two injured in melee on Coney Island boardwalk

The New York City Police Department is looking for five young men wanted in connection with an attack on the boardwalk on Coney Island.

It happened on Monday about 6:30 p.m. at the corner of Stillwell Avenue and Riegelman Boardwalk West.

Police say a 17-year-old victim and 21-year old victim were trying to intervene in a fight between two groups when the five began to punch and kick the victims. One of them stabbed the 17-year-old in the abdomen and back. The 21-year-old victim was cut in the cheek and hit several times with a beach umbrella.

Both victims were transported by EMS to Maimonides Hospital in stable condition. 

The NYPD released video and descriptions of the people they were looking for:
- A black male , 17-20 years-old, approximately 6'3" and slim build. He was last seen wearing a black tee- shirt and black shorts.

- A male black, 17-20 years-old, approximately 5'9" and slim build. He was last seen wearing a white tee-shirt, blue and red Champion shorts.

- A male black, 17-20 years-old, approximately 6'1" and slim build. He was last seen wearing a white tee-shirt and black pants with a white stripe along the side.

-A male black, 17-20 years-old and slim build. Last seen wearing a white baseball shirt and dark pants.

- A male black, 17-20 years-old and slim build. He was last seen wearing a white sleeveless tee-shirt, brown shorts and carrying a black backpack.
