Tripp was admitted to the hospital Monday morning after his mother, Stacy Halstead, said he had low oxygen levels and a high heart rate. He was then sent to the ICU to be treated for pneumonia.

"They assume he caught a cold from school and it turned into pneumonia and because he wasn't breathing properly, it caused his carbon dioxide to go up," Halstead said on Facebook Monday afternoon.

Tuesday morning, Halstead said Tripp had a good night, but he still has some "serious issues going on." Doctors expect the 6-year-old to be there all week.

"That was discouraging, but we are at the best hospital there is and I know they will take excellent care of my baby," Halstead said. "Thank you for all your prayers and support. Love you all."

On October 29, 2012, Tripp suffered severe brain injuries when a tree limb fell on him outside his Winder, Georgia daycare center. He spent months at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta after the accident.
