NEW YORK (FOX 5 NEWS) - Summer is in full swing, which means this weekend is jam-packed with activities for the whole family. And for all you music lovers, the festivals in the area are sure to keep you particularly happy. Here's what's going on.
Kick off your weekend with a dance party in honor of Prince starting at noon on Saturday. Hosted by Spike Lee and Sway, the Brooklyn party at Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration is being called the Prince Born Day Purple People Party, and guests are asked to rock Prince's favorite color.
As Saturday evening rolls around, keep on dancing at KTU's KTUphoria at Nikon at Jones Beach Theater. Singing some of the hottest songs of the summer, the mix of stars will include Pitbull, Enrique Iglesias, the Backstreet Boys, The Chainsmokers, and more. For tickets, head over to Livenation.com.
On Sunday, the HOT97 Summer Jam is bringing some of music's biggest stars to two stages at MetLife Stadium. This year's headliners include Future, Fat Joe and Remy Ma, DJ Khaled, and Young Thug among many more of hip hop’s marquee names. Tickets are available on Ticketmaster.com.
Also on Sunday, the 52nd annual Celebrate Israel Parade will honor the state of Israel with 40,000 marchers from 250 organizations, marching bands and floats making their way up Fifth Avenue. This year's theme is Sight, Sound, and Spirit, and you can expect live entertainment throughout the parade including performances by The Broadway cast of Fiddler on the Roof, Soulfarm, the Maccabeats, and more.
