Things to do in Flushing Meadows Corona Park for the whole family

Finding something for the whole family to do this summer can be a little challenging. No problem -- Fox 5 has few ideas all in the same place in Queens: Flushing Meadows Corona Park.

The park is steeped in history. It was the site of two World's Fairs and also the first temporary headquarters of the United Nations.

These days it plays host to a myriad of activities sure to keep kids entertained all summer long. The park has seven playgrounds, a carousel perfect for tiny tots, and an amusement park.

You can rent all kinds of bikes or get your skateboard on at this new skate park.

The Queens Zoo is split in two. On one side is a petting zoo for little ones. The other side has the main zoo where you can check out the Andean bears.

If you're looking for something more educational, the Queens Museum, Queens Botanical Garden, and Hall of Science Museum are inside the park.

You can picnic, rent a boat at Meadow Lake, play mini golf near the rockets, or fly a model airplane. The model airplane field has produced several world champions.

You can take to the ice at the world ice arena or take a dip in the pool at the aquatic center.

And finally, don't leave the park until you've taken a run through the sprinkler and taken a photo in front of the Unisphere.

If your objective is fun, Flushing Meadows Park has you covered.
