Taxi driver arrested after striking, killing pedestrian

A yellow-cab driver has been arrested after an 80-year-old woman was struck and killed on the Upper East Side.

Police said that 49-year-old Syed Ullah was driving along Third Avenue when he made a left turn on 70th Street and struck the pedestrian, 80-year-old Barbara Horn, Friday afternoon.

Horn was reportedly dragged halfway up the block before Ullah stopped.

Horn was rushed to New York Presbyterian Hospital where she was pronounced dead. 

Ullah remained on scene, and was arrested.

He was charged with failure to yield to a pedestrian.
