Controversial music producer Suge Knight is suing singer Chris Brown over an incident at a party in 2014.

The co-founder of hip-hop label Death Row Records filed the civil lawsuit in Los Angeles Friday.

He accuses Brown of not providing adequate security at a party he hosted almost two years ago.

Knight suffered several gunshot wounds at the West Hollywood nightclub and claims he is still suffering from complications related to the shooting.

Singer Pia Mia and the owners of the nightclub are also included in the lawsuit.

Knight is currently in jail on a murder charge and is awaiting trial.
