Student used body to protect classmates

15-year-old Anthony Borges was shot five times last week when he used his body as a human shield to protect his classmates when a former student opened fire at Marjory Douglas Stoneman High School.

The was trying to lock a classroom door when Nikolas Cruz allegedly shot him.  He held his ground and put his body between the gunman and his classmates.  No one else in the room was shot.

The Broward County Sheriff visited the Parkland teen on Sunday.  The sheriff's office tweeted "The sheriff was honored to visit Anthony Borges, 15, in the hospital."

Fortunately, he is recovering, but Borges has a long road ahead with more surgeries needed.
