Storm chaser wants remains released into tornado

A Missouri storm chaser told friends in his obituary that he wants them to launch his ashes into a tornado, adding: "That'll be fun!!!!"

Jim "Mad Dog" Sellars, who passed away at the age of 64, spelled out his unique wishes in the obituary he wrote before he died Tuesday. He'd lived with a heart condition for several years.

Sellars worked more than three decades for a telephone company, served as a reserve police officer and had a lifelong passion for weather and HAM radios. And for years, he chased storms.

His obit stated:   "I loved storms and storm chasing and made numerous national presentations on local severe storms and emergency communications."

It went on:  "Since I was a kid I was always intrigued by the weather …I saw my first tornado in Sept 1975 and my last 30 years later…Lately I couldn’t go and see them anymore but, I helped out with SKYWARN and helped my friends in Emergency Management across the Ozarks and the National Weather Service…I liked all kinds of weather, rain, snow, sleet, hot, cold…I really didn’t care as long as I was here to see it…"

He is survived by his son David and his wife Amanda, daughter Lindsay and her wife Danielle and 4 grandkids.
