Spooked police horse gets loose in NYC

NEW YORK (FOX 5 NEWS) - A police horse got spooked and threw off its rider in the Times Square area Wednesday evening, police said.

The incident happened at West 48th Street and 6th Avenue at about 7:25 p.m.

A loud noise apparently startled the horse, the NYPD said.

The officer suffered minor injuries.

It is not clear how long the horse was loose.
