Soothe: Book a massage via app

Tired, sore New Yorkers, this is your lucky day. Soothe -- a same-day, on-demand massage service app -- has launched in New York City. Fox 5 tested it out by calling Soothe to the station.

Natasha Navarro, a licensed massage therapist and recruiter for Soothe, pulled right up to our front door. Give Soothe an hour's notice and they'll send one of their 50 local licensed massage therapists to your home too for a 60-, 90- or 120-minute massage. They bring their own massage tables and equipment and offer everything from deep-tissue and sports massages, to hot stone, pre-natal, and even couples' massages.

Soothe massages are available from 8 a.m. to midnight 7 days a week, starting at $99, tax and tip included.

Navarro says they'll come to your home or office, and will even do chair massages at corporate events and company health fairs.

At Fox 5, Navarro started out giving chair massages to our hard-working producers. Then we gave her a real pain: Russ Salzberg in Sports! And finally, the ultimate challenge, getting my post-marathon muscles moving again. Navarro started with the quads, and had me moving again in no time.

Soothe is currently available in Queens, Brooklyn, and Manhattan. They hope to expand to the Bronx and Staten Island soon.
