Returning soldier surprises little sister at school

- Christmas came early for Grace Hernandez, 12, as her older brother, U.S. Army Pfc. Joseph Hernandez, 20, returned home for the first time since being deployed to South Korea in March.

After she and her classmates were told that they were having a special visitor at the Robert Frost Middle School on Long Island, Grace couldn't believe it when that special visitor was her brother. She said it was the best present she could have gotten -- a present that comes after some very difficult months.

Through the challenges, Hernandez's family has supported him. Grace said she is proud to have a family member serving in the military.

Since March, Hernandez has been serving as part of the First Signal Brigade, a strategic signal company.

He and his family had an entirely different mission as they kept his visit a secret from Grace. They thought it would be a nice surprise. And as this mission was clearly accomplished, there was only one thing left to do: have a great Christmas.
